Lavish Bollywood show set for Canberra stage. An Indian Bollywood film-style Live Stage Spectacular show featuring a cast of 50 Bollywood dancers with lavish sets, pyrotechnics, huge dance numbers and a light-hearted look at love, is set to explode on to the Canberra stage next February. A Canberra cast and crew are already busy rehearsing for Enter My Heart, which is being presented by Bollywood Dimensions Productions at the Canberra Theatre as part of the special events National Multicultural Festival 2007. Written, produced and directed by Artistic Director Anshu Srivastava "Enter My Heart is a love story with niche actors, good music and a thumping story". It's a story about love which begins with a gorgeous and sensitive Indian girl, Simran, who falls in love with an Aussie boy, Dave. "Enter My Heart has it all. Simran and Dave's love story is like the rain ... unpredictable yet welcome, torrential yet life-giving." Anshu said the show's lavish sets, intelligent lighting techniques and huge dance numbers were a breath of fresh air and would bring new life to sometimes hackneyed musicals of days gone by. "Canberra's hottest and most exotic new musical show will be a fabulously choreographed extravaganza with thrilling percussive music, pyrotechnics and a cascade of expertly-drilled dancers in glitter and glamour, bangles and beads, and dazzling costumes. "The show comes with a vibrancy that is thrilling, and great fun, both funky and romantic. We discover whether Simran and Dave's dreams come true and whether they find true love, with a finale that unfolds with exuberance and excitement." Anshu Srivastava established Canberra's first Bollywood Dance and Fitness School after moving to the capital in 1995. The school is aimed at identifying, growing and training aspiring Bollywood dancers in the multicultural landscape of the Australian Capital Territory. The School embraces the theme 'Dance with a Purpose' and passionately conveys the message of compassion, friendship and understanding to the ACT and its surrounding regions.
